  • A query will be executed to find the Parcel information on basis of Selected Village, Taluk, District,Survey Number , Vegitation cover and Bund length (auto or manual).
  • System will fetch the information about Soil texture, Slope, Landform (Black, Red / lateritic) for the respective parcel.
  • A query will be executed to find current Land use for the selected survey number.
  • A query will be executed on below table to get constant infiltration rate depending Soil Texture and Land use.

  • A query will be executed to find the number of events of rainfall and catogerised as per the peak Intensity, rainfall for last 24 Hours (rainfall value will be reset at 08:30 am daily).

 

  • Calculate the Rainfall Peak Intensity (mm/hr)
    • Calc_Rainfall = (Rainfall end – rainfall start)* 4 for each 15 mnts record
    • If the each Calc_Rainfall >20 then consider it else ignore the value
    • Take range starting from 20 – maxmimum Calc_Rainfall. (e.g. 20-30)
  • Estimate Average rainfall intensity by calculating average of Rainfall peak intensity

 

  • Estimate the Net instantaneous Runoff rate by subtracting Constant infiltration rate (mm/hr) from Average rainfall intensity (mm/hr).

Net instantaneous runoff rate = (Average rainfall intensity) – (Constant infiltration rate)

  • Estimate Design runoff (mm) by multiplying Net instantaneous runoff rate with possible duration of rainfall.

Design runoff depth = (Net instantaneous runoff) X (possible duration of rainfall)

  • Estimate Runoff against existing infiltration rate (mm/hr) by multiplying number of possible events and design runoff depth, runoff generated against existing infiltration rate (mm/hr) is assessed.

Runoff generated against existing infiltration rate = (No. of possible events) X (Design runoff depth)

  • System will fetch the informationon for the conservation structure for the selected survey number. If it is Bunding then, the minimum length of the bund (m) is considered for calculating the Design runoff retained.

Design Runoff Retained = [(Min. Length of the bund) X (Anticipated Water Spread Area)] / 10

  • If Runoff generated against Existing Infiltration rate > Design Runoff Retained

Max. Runoff Excess = (Runoff generated against Existing Infiltration rate) – (Design Runoff Retained)

Else

Max. Runoff Excess = 0

Display the result in a table showing the information such as Survey No, Farmer Name, Area in Hectare, Interval, Runoff(mm).

Result from SCS Curve Method:

The result table displays surface runoff using SCS Curve method (parameters for calculating surface runoff using SCS Curve Method hydrological soil group, current land use (the type of crop), rainfall, and potential and maximum soil moisture retention and runoff.) at given time interval i.e. on daily basis.

Result From Infiltration Method:

The system calculates result table using infiltration method  based on parameters like rainfall and potential and maximum soil moisture retention and runoff, surface runoff, type of vegetation(current land use (the type of crop)), soil characteristic like texture(hydrological soil group),slope at an interval on daily basis)

Result From Rational Method

The system calculates result table using rational method based on parameters like peak intensity of rainfall, runoff coefficient values of different slopes, land use, soil texture and the time of concentration.

The result table displays data for surface runoff calculating at a time interval of daily basis which helps in estimating severe loss of agricultural productivity through the exposure of sub-surface soil as well as siltation in reservoirs and natural streams elsewhere.

Apart from displaying surface runoff information, the table will provide survey no, farmers name (On clicking the hyperlink the user is able to get information regarding land code, owner details and area of the land parcel from Bhoomi data)
